1. Christians, Jews, and Muslims all recognize THE OLD TESTAMENT as a holy book.
2. In the New Testament, Jesus is asked about "what about an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth." (In in other words, he is asking what about what the Old Testament tells us to do about people when they do bad things, ma...ybe TO us) Matthew 5. Jesus replies, Love your neighbor. Pressed on this, he says if one is wronged, to turn the other cheek. If one is wronged again, turn the other cheek also. Obviously is has repudiated violence. Not that sins listed in the Old Testament are no longer sins, just that God no longer commands violence as was proscribed in the Old Testament. He is saying "Let God handle it". Jesus is letting everyone know that if they commit violence, it is NOT in the name of Jesus or his Father. The Jewish faith underwent a similar process.
3. The Muslim faith underwent no such repudiation of violence. Yes, it is easy to take a line or two out of context. But the writings that constitute the Islamic faith are filled, literally, from beginning end with not only allegories (Jesus's talks are filled with allegories), but out and out COMMANDS to harm others outside the faith. The Qu'ran, the Sura, and the Hadiths literally are filled from beginning to end with these types of things.
4. Regardless if whether we believe any of the ancient texts or not, no Christians of any number actively preach the type of violence that is present in the Old Testament. Yes, people like to bring up the wackos who protest at funerals and such and point to them as an example of all Christians, but this is just a fake smear. I would guess that 99% or more true Christians would not approve of such a thing, just as they would not approve of suicide bombings, headings, and such. The Christian religion has become "civilized". Yes, Christians do bad things, or sin. No true Christian will ever say that they are perfect. We've all met Christians that we don't like. But I've never had one try to beheaded me or gang rape a member of my family. Just sayin'. So let's keep things in perspective-- no one is perfect. All the more reason for a Savior. SO by definition, a sin CANNOT be commanded by God to be carried out by ANY follower. A SIN is NEVER done in the Name of the Christian God. Jesus NEVER commands us to sin or hurt anyone else. Never.
5. Islam has not gone through this process of becoming "civilized". Actually, the writings of Muhammad in the Qu`ran, the Hadiths, and the Sura are, if anything, much more violent than the Old Testament.
6. Why has it NEVER been reported having heard a Christian yell "Jesus is great" as they blow themselves up? Huh? It just doesn't happen. Muslims yell "Allahu Akbar" all the time as they blow themselves up or kill innocent people.
7. Well, you might say--it's not ALL Muslims. Well, compared to Christians, who I'm sure would DISPROVE of suicide bombing by 99% plus, again, Muslims in Egypt support it by 54%. You can complain all you want about sample size, but the results of this poll are right in line with polls done right along. 33% of Muslim students BORN and RAISED in Great Britain are sympathetic to suicide bombing. Again, why?? Could it be what they have been taught-- Islam???
8. Bottom line--when we are considering who to let into our Country, I'll take my chances with Africans, Russians, Chinese, Indian, South American, and, yes, Mexican (legally) before I will with any Muslim. Sorry, 46% just isn't a very good batting average as far as hoping someone doesn't want to kill you.
9. Does that mean that all Muslims here want to kill us?? No--absolutely not. Muslims never start push their weight around against the indigenous population until they reach between 5%-10%. Look at what is going on in Great Britain (5%), France, Germany, and the Netherlands (all 6%-8%). The Muslims that entered those countries NEVER intended to assimilate. Now they are in various stages of agitating for Sharia law in all those countries. Sharia law is incompatible with Western Democracy. Muslims have much larger families than the indigenous Europeans, so I'm sure we'll get to see how that goes (the Islamization of Europe). I'll be the first admit it if it doesn't happen and I'm wrong, but I don't think so. These are their stated aims all along.
10. The funny thing is, they tell is what they're gonna do, but we don't believe them! Talk about connecting the dots LOL. So you can read on it. The leaders of ALL FOUR of these countries have declared Multiculturalism a dismal failure.
Again, this is just the Facts.
What happens when Muslims reach 30% or so?? See the Sudan for that one.
11. So--bottom line--whether we believe it or not (the Qu'ran) doesn't matter.
Millions of people, many hundreds of millions, take it Literally. I don't care what you or I think. If they take its commandant literally, that makes them dangerous.
Again, facts are stubborn things.
12. Where are these people getting these barbaric ideas?? NOT Christians. They are being taught this from their holy books.
If it makes you feel better, go ahead and say "Islam has been hijacked". That just apologized for it, though and sweeps the problem under the rug. A better question is, is if this is what most Muslims believe, why don't most people in the U.S. know it? Surely Big Brother would have told us, right?? That's a good one, too.
Well, I am a much better tester if nothing else as I ate my pizza. Back to work.
13. So, I don't do this to preach hatred. Just for educational purposes. I know where you are coming from. I used to be a Liberal and thought the same things that you are saying. I also found out that there are way too many college courses that engage in the touchy feely conflict resolution hogwash (which can work with two civilized people who are willing to submit to the system) but it does not work for this. People have to be reasonable to an extent. People who beheaded, beat their wives, practice genital mutilation, pedophilia, are not. Very few classes nowadays teach critical thinking, which is a shame.
14. So to borrow from the naive bumper sticker, "You cannot coexist with people who want to kill you."
