"Main-stream" Media should be embarrassed

Last year during the election, talk radio and Fox News tried to tell us what ACORN was all about. The "main stream" media ignored their reports, instead blaming the right-wing for unfair attacks and exaggerating the truth. Finally, a couple of young adults did what the 20/20 and 60 minutes used to do.

Remember when (now you may have to really search your memory banks for this!) those news magazines used to show up unannounced to a location to get answers about a controversial person or organization. Often, the reporter would go in with a hidden camera to catch them "red-handed."

Because these so-called news organization have refused to do their job and investigate ACORN, two rookies took it upon themselves to do it and look at what has happened in less than a week of them releasing the tapes:

1) The census department has stated that ACORN will no longer be involved in the census! (Thank goodness!!)

2) Both the US Senate and House have voted to cut off funding for ACORNS housing operations.

3) ACORN themselves have been forced now to basically cease their operations while they conduct an investigation (but I am not hopeful this will last long or be a thorough investigation)

CBS, ABC, NBC, CNN, the New York Times, TIME and Newsweek should be embarrassed. They were scooped out of a news story that SHOULD HAVE BEEN DONE A YEAR AGO! Why didn't they? I think we all know the answer to that one. Because I don't want to repeat what others have to say, I suggest readers to do their own research and read about bias in the media. Read Bernard Goldberg's book, Bias: A CBS Insider Exposes How the Media Distort the News.

In his book, Goldberg (who worked for CBS) exposes Bias in the media. More journalists identify themselves as liberal or as democrat than conservative or republican. Charlie Gibson of ABC News, who I used to actually respect, lost any credibility he had left this week when he said on a Chicago radio show that he was unaware of the ACORN tapes that have been shown over and over again on Fox News. This was on Tuesday - AFTER the Census bureau cut ties with ACORN and AFTER the Senate voted to cut off their funding because of the tapes.

This might be what finally drives the nail into the coffin of the media. Americans may finally wake up and see that the media has been purposely hiding the truth from them. There are too many alternative new media sources for them to choose to get their news from that the old ones will just wither away. I predict that within a few years, the 3 networks (ABC, CBS and NBC) will drop their evening 6:30 newcasts. Also, through necessity, MSNBC and CNN may attempt to hire more conservative journalists to try to get some of Fox's market share. I think it may be too late though for MSNBC! Unless, they have a major overhaul, they will be done within the next 3 years. CBS may have to totally get out the news business since they do not have a cable presence and nobody is watching them anyway. With 20/20's John Stossel leaving ABC for Fox Business and Fox News, ABC's future is questionable. I will not predict CNN's demise at this time, but they will need to do something to regain market share from Fox. (Hint CNN - tell the truth!)
