1. Saved the collapse of the American automotive industry by making GM restructure before bailing them out, and putting incentive money to help the industry
2. Shifted the focus of the war from Iraq to Afghanistan, and putting the emphasis on reducing terrorism where it should have been all along
3. Relaxed Anti-American tensions throughout the world
4. Signed order to close the prisoner “torture camp” at Guantanamo Bay
5. Has made the environment a national priority, and a primary source for job creation

JOURNALISM AS IT IS PRACTICED TODAY
A Harley biker is riding by the zoo in Washington, DC when he sees a little girl leaning into the lion's cage. Suddenly, the lion grabs her by the collar of her jacket and tries to pull her inside to slaughter her, under the eyes of her screaming parents.
The biker jumps off his Harley, runs to the cage and hits the lion square on the nose with a powerful punch.
Whimpering from the pain the lion jumps back letting go of the girl, and the biker brings her to her terrified parents, who thank him endlessly. A reporter has watched the whole event.
The reporter addressing the Harley rider says, 'Sir, this was the most gallant and brave thing I've seen a man do in my whole life.'
The Harley rider replies, 'Why, it was nothing, really, the lion was behind bars. I just saw this little kid in danger and acted as I felt right.'
The reporter says, 'Well, I'll make sure this won't go unnoticed. I'm a journalist, you know, and tomorrow's paper will have this story on the front page. So, what do you do for a living and what political affiliation do you have?'
The biker replies, 'I'm a U.S. Marine and a Republican.'
The journalist leaves.
The following morning the biker buys the paper to see if it indeed brings news of his actions, and reads, on the front page:

This pretty much sums up the media's approach to the news these days.

A SOLDIER SPEAKS: WHAT ABOUT SOME RESPECT "FROM" OBAMA?

Now that General McChrystal is gone, liberals and conservatives seem to agree that McChrystal did not show sufficient “respect” for President Obama. But what about respect from Obama and his ruling liberal elite for our system, our country, and its values? What about the chain of command that makes Obama answerable to the American people and the system that he is so brazenly attempting to transform into something completely foreign to what our founders intended?
Whatever differences the liberals and conservatives have on this issue, most commentators agree that General McChrystal—and his aides—should not have said what was in the Rolling Stone interview. The agreement explains why the liberals have won the battle over the long-term fate of the United States of America. They are controlling the debate over what is appropriate and what is not.
As an Operation Iraqi Freedom veteran who was stationed in the Middle East, I am not a fan of General McChrystal. But that doesn’t matter in this situation because the key point is that many of those supposedly on the Right who like General McChrystal nevertheless agreed with the liberals that it was wrong for an active duty general to “undermine” or “disparage” the commander-in-chief. They said that it’s something that you just don’t do—that it violates the way things are done and breaks rules. What nonsense.
The liberals in power constantly do things that you are not supposed to do, violate the way things are done, and break rules and laws. The liberals in the White House and Congress have firmly established that the only rule is that there are no rules. And they stand firmly together and applaud themselves for it even as they face no serious consequences for their immorality. So if the Right believed that General McChrystal was the correct guy for the job, they should have rallied around him and defended him, instead of joining with the liberals.
Here are a few examples of things that we once did not do (and which still break the law or rules) but which the liberals have normalized through unilaterally and unapologetically doing:
It is now acceptable to have the police escort a mob of thugs to a banker’s home so the mob can terrorize innocent civilians.
It is now acceptable to have the New Black Panthers wield weapons outside a voting station in order to increase liberal voter turnout.
It is now acceptable to appoint a homosexual advocate as a “safe schools czar” and boast of it. Those who condemn such perverts and their advocates are deemed “hateful” and of “leading a vicious smear campaign.” Telling the truth is now a smear.
It is acceptable for the president to try to force the troops, involved in two wars, to accept open homosexuals in the ranks so that a political special interest group can be appeased.
It is now acceptable to have a U.S. President who is personal friends with a communist terrorist.
It is now acceptable to have a U.S. President who goes around the world “apologizing” for America and debasing it.
It is now acceptable for elected officials such as Senator Harry Reid to disparage our troops and give comfort to the enemy.
It is now acceptable to beat an old woman on live TV and “protest” against laws attempting to preserve the last vestiges of morality (see the homosexual reaction to the Proposition 8 measure in California).
It is now acceptable to attack a beauty pageant contestant with the most vulgar of language because she did not completely embrace the sodomite agenda.
It is now acceptable to destroy the institution of marriage, even though the institution of marriage is sacred, according to the Bible that tens of millions of Americans still embrace.
It is now acceptable to promote sodomy and indoctrinate our children into it.
It is now acceptable to slaughter the unborn in the name of “choice.”
It is now acceptable to deny and legally subvert the Christian heritage of this nation.
It is now acceptable to aid illegal aliens and bring lawsuits against states like Arizona which choose to enforce the law that the federal government refuses to enforce.
It is acceptable to side with foreign invaders and prosecute American citizens who are trying to protect our sovereignty and lives.
It is now acceptable to practice and promote socialism, communism, or statism, or whatever one wants to call it.
It is acceptable to bow down at the altar of Islam and put no preconditions on talking with the most evil of terrorists and regimes.
And it is now acceptable to declare Tea Partiers, proponents of national sovereignty, and other law-abiding citizens of the United States of America “enemies” of the state, even as one allies with communists and Mexican invaders.
The liberals do all these things that you are not supposed to do. They break all these laws and rules and more. Yet the Right does not call them on this—at least not with any backbone or conviction. And so it is laughable to hear those supposedly on the Right say that while they like General McChrystal and wished that he could have stayed, President Obama had no choice but to ask for his resignation because General McChrystal said things “you just don’t say” and was “disrespectful.”
I’ve known for some time that the Republicans are a spineless joke but now it appears that the conservatives are, too.
There are no rules of “civility” any longer. One must simply fight if one hopes to win this war. But it does not appear that the Right will be able to do this because the Right cannot identify that there is a war, doesn’t realize that there are no rules of engagement, and cannot even identify who the domestic enemy is.
And so the liberals will keep talking about General McChrystal’s forced resignation and what other courses of action will now follow. But the key point will never be discussed and never even be realized.

But that doesn’t matter in this situation because the key point is that many of those supposedly on the Right who like General McChrystal nevertheless agreed with the liberals that it was wrong for an active duty general to “undermine” or “disparage” the commander-in-chief. They said that it’s something that you just don’t do—that it violates the way things are done and breaks rules. What nonsense.
The liberals in power constantly do things that you are not supposed to do, violate the way things are done, and break rules and laws. The liberals in the White House and Congress have firmly established that the only rule is that there are no rules. And they stand firmly together and applaud themselves for it even as they face no serious consequences for their immorality. So if the Right believed that General McChrystal was the correct guy for the job, they should have rallied around him and defended him, instead of joining with the liberals.
Here are a few examples of things that we once did not do (and which still break the law or rules) but which the liberals have normalized through unilaterally and unapologetically doing:
It is now acceptable to have the police escort a mob of thugs to a banker’s home so the mob can terrorize innocent civilians.
It is now acceptable to have the New Black Panthers wield weapons outside a voting station in order to increase liberal voter turnout.
It is now acceptable to appoint a homosexual advocate as a “safe schools czar” and boast of it. Those who condemn such perverts and their advocates are deemed “hateful” and of “leading a vicious smear campaign.” Telling the truth is now a smear.
It is acceptable for the president to try to force the troops, involved in two wars, to accept open homosexuals in the ranks so that a political special interest group can be appeased.
It is now acceptable to have a U.S. President who is personal friends with a communist terrorist.
It is now acceptable to have a U.S. President who goes around the world “apologizing” for America and debasing it.
It is now acceptable for elected officials such as Senator Harry Reid to disparage our troops and give comfort to the enemy.
It is now acceptable to beat an old woman on live TV and “protest” against laws attempting to preserve the last vestiges of morality (see the homosexual reaction to the Proposition 8 measure in California).
It is now acceptable to attack a beauty pageant contestant with the most vulgar of language because she did not completely embrace the sodomite agenda.
It is now acceptable to destroy the institution of marriage, even though the institution of marriage is sacred, according to the Bible that tens of millions of Americans still embrace.
It is now acceptable to promote sodomy and indoctrinate our children into it.
It is now acceptable to slaughter the unborn in the name of “choice.”
It is now acceptable to deny and legally subvert the Christian heritage of this nation.
It is now acceptable to aid illegal aliens and bring lawsuits against states like Arizona which choose to enforce the law that the federal government refuses to enforce.
It is acceptable to side with foreign invaders and prosecute American citizens who are trying to protect our sovereignty and lives.
It is now acceptable to practice and promote socialism, communism, or statism, or whatever one wants to call it.
It is acceptable to bow down at the altar of Islam and put no preconditions on talking with the most evil of terrorists and regimes.
And it is now acceptable to declare Tea Partiers, proponents of national sovereignty, and other law-abiding citizens of the United States of America “enemies” of the state, even as one allies with communists and Mexican invaders.
The liberals do all these things that you are not supposed to do. They break all these laws and rules and more. Yet the Right does not call them on this—at least not with any backbone or conviction. And so it is laughable to hear those supposedly on the Right say that while they like General McChrystal and wished that he could have stayed, President Obama had no choice but to ask for his resignation because General McChrystal said things “you just don’t say” and was “disrespectful.”
I’ve known for some time that the Republicans are a spineless joke but now it appears that the conservatives are, too.
There are no rules of “civility” any longer. One must simply fight if one hopes to win this war. But it does not appear that the Right will be able to do this because the Right cannot identify that there is a war, doesn’t realize that there are no rules of engagement, and cannot even identify who the domestic enemy is.
And so the liberals will keep talking about General McChrystal’s forced resignation and what other courses of action will now follow. But the key point will never be discussed and never even be realized.
But it remains the key point nonetheless: unless the Right stops condemning people like General McChrystal, whose contempt for the President he voted for is obviously shared within the ranks, the Right will ensure that it will stay on the defensive. The complete destruction of the nation will inevitably follow.

Disclose Act passes House headed for Senate – Violates Supreme Court decision
CALL YOUR TWO SENATORS NOW! A bill designed to curtail the activities of smaller political groups like the Tea Party has passed the House of Representatives and is now headed to the Senate. The only thing the citizens of Atlanta and the nation can now do in order to defeat this bill is to contact their senators and ask them to vote against it. It will take at least one Republican vote for this to pass if all Democrats vote for it. Remind those, as if they did not know, that this is an election year and you will be watching how they vote before you do.
This bill was slated for an earlier vote but was delayed because of concern of it not passing with certain cuts in the bill to exempt certain groups. It was quietly brought back before the house here it passed 219 to 206. If this passes the house, it will have significant impact on the November elections which was for the intended purpose.
Michael Connelly, Constitutional Attorney and professor of Constitutional law in Texas had the following to say:
“My first Legislative Alert that I posted on my blog on June 8th dealt with HR 5175, “The Disclose Act” that was pending in Congress. Unfortunately, this very dangerous and clearly unconstitutional piece of legislation passed the House of Representatives on June 24th by a vote of 219 to 206. Now, the only chance to defeat it is to immediately contact your U.S. Senators and urge them to vote against it. The indications are that Harry Reid plans on pushing it to the Senate floor as quickly as possible.
If this bill passes it will have a major chilling impact on businesses and independent issue oriented conservative groups that plan to be heavily involved in the upcoming elections. The law is designed to limit these groups in direct violation of the Supreme Court decision in the case of Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission that clearly stated that these types of limitations on political speech violated the First Amendment to the Constitution.
This is not only an attempt by the Obama Administration to silence its opponents before the November election, but it is a statement by the House of Representatives and the President that they believe the Constitution is dead and that the third branch of government, the Federal Judiciary is no longer relevant and can be ignored. Please contact your Senators and urge others to do the same.

While defending his own policies President Obama has routinely been rude and sarcastic to his predecessor, George W. Bush. Yet Obama appears to be making the resident of the previous White House look like a genius compared to his own serious missteps in office....Case in point – Interior Secretary Ken Salazar's performance and the communication of priorities on the issue of oil rig safety in the Gulf of Mexico.
It seems incomprehensible that the president and other members of the administration still have jobs when it is now being reported that the federal government was apprised by BP on February 13 that the Deepwater Horizon oil rig was leaking oil and natural gas into the ocean floor.
In fact, according to documents in the administration's possession, BP was fighting large cracks at the base of the well for roughly ten days in early February. Further it seems the administration was also informed about this development, six weeks before to the rig's fatal explosion when an engineer from the University of California, Berkeley, announced to the world a near miss of an explosion on the rig by stating, "They damn near blew up the rig."
It's also now being reported that BP was asking for the administration's help on this matter long before the deadly accident and the now gushing well of tar.
Which leads me to some questions for the president. If I were in front row of reporters in the White House briefing room, here’s what I’d like to know:
1. It appears, Mr. President, that you were informed by BP about problems on Deepwater Horizon on February 13 and the company wanted your help. What did you say?
2. Given this new revelation, Mr. President, how can you can sleep at night knowing that your inaction cost the lives of eleven men in Louisiana?
3. Did you inform the victims' families about these facts when you invited them to the White House for last month's photo op?
4. You've said, Mr. President, time and again, that the buck stops with you. Doesn’t that statement seem like something bordering on propaganda when you follow it up with what appears to be a false sense of outrage by telling Matt Lauer that you're looking for rear ends to kick?
5. Does the buck stop with you… or not?
6. Are you going to insist that Mr. Salazar step down from his post in disgrace and shame?
7. Will you hold another prime time television press conference and tell the entire truth to the American people? -- These would be the actions of a man who says that the buck "stops" with him.
8. I know when this news was breaking midday on Saturday about the latest BP developments that you and the Vice President were out on the golf course. Was it 39th or 40th time you've played a round in 18 months? (Just for a point of reference President Bush played golf 24 times in eight years.) Never mind, your priorities are for you to decide. At least until election night...And now here's where I would not be able to stop myself from saying more...

Recently large demonstrations have taken place Across the country protesting the fact that Arizona Is addressing the issue of illegal immigration.
Certain people are angry that The US might protect its own Borders, might make it harder To sneak into this country and, Once here, to stay indefinitely.
Let me see if I correctly understand The thinking behind these protests. Let's say I break into your house.Let's say that when you discover Me in your house, you insist that I leave.
But I say, 'No! I like it here.
It's better than my house. I've made all The beds and washed the Dishes and did the laundry And swept the floors. I've Done all the things you don't Like to do. I'm hard-workingAnd honest (except for when I broke into your house).
According to the protesters:
You are Required to let me stay in your house
You are Required to feed me
You are Required to add me to your family's insurance plan
You are Required to Educate my kids
You are Required to Provide other benefits to me & to my family (my husband will do all of your yard work because He is also hard-working and honest, except for that Breaking in part).
If you try to call the police or force me out, I will call my friends who will picket your House carrying signs that proclaim my RIGHT to be there.
It's only fair, after all, because you have A nicer house than I do, and I'm just Trying to better myself. I'm a hard-working And honest, person, except for well, You know, I did break into your house And what a deal it is for me!!!
I live in your house, contributing only a Fraction of the cost of my keep, and There is nothing you can do about it Without being accused of cold,
Uncaring, selfish, prejudiced, and Bigoted behavior.
Oh yeah, I DEMAND that you learn MY LANGUAGE!!! So you can Communicate with me.
Why can't people see how ridiculous This is? Only in America.

Nancy Pelosi wants a Windfall Tax on Retirement Income. In other words tax what you have made by investing toward your retirement.. This woman is a nut case! You aren't going to believe this.
Madam speaker Nancy Pelosi wants to put a Windfall Tax on all stock market profits (including Retirement fund, 401K and Mutual Funds! Alas, it is true ------AND AFTER 2010 SHE WANTS 55 PERCENT ON YOUR INHERITANCE---- THAT YOU HAVE ALREADY BEEN TAXED ON!
This woman is frightening. She quotes...' We need to work toward the goal of equalizing income, (didn't Marx say something like this?), in our country and at the same time limiting the amount the rich can invest.'
When asked how these new tax dollars would be spent, she replied:
'We need to raise the standard of living of our poor, unemployed and minorities. For example, we have an estimated 12 million illegal immigrants in our country who need our help along with millions of unemployed minorities.. Stock market windfall profits taxes could go a long way to guarantee these people the standard of living they would like to have as 'Democrats'.'
(Read that quote again and again and let it sink in) 'Lower your retirement, give it to others who have not worked as you have for it'.
